ALUMNI SPOTLIGHT: Johnson enjoying life as teacher back in hometown

Sarah Johnson, the 6th grade English teacher at Baldwin Junior High School, has worked at BJHS or six years. She valued her time at Baldwin, and that positive experience made her want to return back to her roots.

“I went through the school system here at Baldwin and many of my teachers inspired me to teach,” Johnson said. “When I went back to the school it felt like home i was excited and lucky to work there.”

She enjoys the daily joy of being a classroom teacher.

“My favorite part of the job is every day is a new day and the age group I work with can be challenging but I love the feeling when students are excited to see me when they come to class,” Johnson said. “You get to build relationships with the students. You get to watch them grow and move on to college knowing you had a part in there growth.”

Johnson still works at BJHS and still teaches English for sixth grade she loves her job and does everything with hard work and compassion.

“Johnson was a fun and nice teacher, she made English more interesting,” BHS sophomore Lauren Green said.
