Long time basketball coach Bob Martin
Basketball is one of those sports where you have good and bad days, and Bob Martin had the best day ever on March 10, 2018. The Baldwin High School girls basketball team won the State Championship.
“It’s hard for me to pick one of the most memorable but the state championship years stands out to me the most,” head basketball coach Martin said.
When someone coaches any type of sport (soccer, basketball, football, etc) they usually are not at one school the entire time, they go to school to school. Martin went to two schools before becoming an assistant coach at BHS.
“Yes, I also coached at Shawnee High School and Plainville High School,” Martin said.
Becoming a head coach that was assistant coach for five years is very awesome. Knowing Martin has been the head coach since 2006 is even better.
“I was the assistant coach from 2000-2006,” Martin said. “ I then went from assistant coach to head coach 2000-2019.”
Basketball is such a fun, entertaining, competitive sport to play. Martin is a very very good girls basketball coach for BHS.
“I am so excited for the upcoming basketball season,” Martin said. “I can’t wait for November to get here.”
