With Prom right around the corner students are coming up with creative ways to ask their dates to the dance.

Junior Phillip Carroll asked junior Jill Dick on Feb. 22. On that Sunday night, Carroll showed up on her doorstep with a cheese pizza and on the inside it read “I know this is CHEESY but will you be my date to prom?”

“I was nervous that she would say no, but I was more afraid of her dad answering the door,” Carroll said.

Senior Eric Peterson asked senior Emma Stewart on Sunday, Mar. 8. Stewart has been involved with sheep and goats most of her young life, she is involved in 4-H. Peterson went to her house. On one of the goats he put a tag on one that said “PRAAAM”

“I knew she really loves goats so I thought it would be a funny way to ask her and it really surprised her so I think she liked it!” Peterson said. “Maddie Ogle helped me come up with the idea and then we talked to her mom and I snuck in her barn and I sat in the pen holding the baby goat with a sign saying ‘Prammmm’ around it.”

Others took a more traditional approach. Senior Dalton Houser asked sophomore Morgan Rickey with a more direct approach, he gave her a piece of paper and had Rickey read it back to him saying “Prom?” which they both accepted.

Prom will be at 8 p.m. on Saturday, April 18, at Abe and Jake’s Landing.
