Tomorrow at 8 a.m. the students in the two AP Government classes and some Business classes will be going to Kansas City and taking tours of the Federal Trade Commission and the Federal Reserve.
Kathleen Sigvaldson teaches the AP Government class and Gayle Dempsey teaches part of the business classes at Baldwin High School.
“This is the first time I’m going. Mrs. Dempsey has done this every year and this year we decided to team up,” Sigvaldson said.
In May, the Federal Trade Commission will no longer be giving tours. The AP government students have been studying the federal economy and the Federal Reserve Board.
“I’m excited to go because it will give us a chance to see how that aspect of the government works in person,” senior Abbi Carlson.
If the AP Government classes go again next year, they will go to the Federal District Court and the Federal Reserve Board because the Federal Trade Commission won’t be having tours.
