Exchange student Eusebio Jimenez from Mexico is enjoying his year here at BHS and in America. He played soccer as a fall sport in BHS. He is now involved in basketball as a winter sport. He knows of some differences in sports in his country that he compares in this story.
Are sports in America different from sports in Mexico?
- “Sports in Mexico are the same as sports in America, but we only care about soccer.”
What are the main sports in your country?
- “The main sport in my country is soccer.”
Did you involve yourself in any sports in your home country?
- “I do not involve myself in any sport in my country.”
Were you in any sports here in America?
- “Yes, I was in soccer for the fall season and I am now in the basketball team.”
How would you compare how you celebrate sports in Mexico and in America?
- “In Mexico there is so much more intensity and emotions about the sports, but in America it is more of high school and college sports that is important.”
