Baldwin High School recieved a new teacher, Paul Musslemen from Wichita East. He teaches Culinary, Human Career and Life Plan. He attended Silver Lake High School and Kansas State University. He is coaching football and boys basketball at BHS.
Why did you choose to come and teach in Baldwin?
- “Sandra contacted me about interviewing to fill her position when I was still at my previous teaching position in Wichita. I knew a little bit about Baldwin, but really got a good feeling after coming here to interview. It was closer to the part of state where I had spent most of my life.”
What do you think of Baldwin high school so far?
- “My family and I have really enjoyed our time in Baldwin so far. We are both from small towns so it has a familiar feel for us.”
How was your coaching in football?
- “Coaching football was a great experience. The players overcame a lot of adversity to make it to the playoffs and hopefully learned some valuable lessons. Coach Berg and the other assistants made me feel welcome and made it a lot of fun working together.”
Are you going to coach any other sport?
- “I will be the freshman boys basketball coach.”
KU or K-State?
- “I grew up a major KU basketball fan, but after several years and a couple degrees from K-State, I am definitely a Wildcat.”
Are you glad the election is over?
- “I am glad the election is over.”
Who is your favorite super hero and why?
- “My favorite superhero is Batman. He is only mortal, has really cool vehicles and devices, and has a dark side.”
What is your favorite food to make and eat?
- “My favorite food to make and eat is spaghetti and other pasta dishes.”
What is your favorite food to teach students to make?
- “My favorite food to teach students to make is sopapilla cheesecake.”
What is the least favorite food to teach students to make?
- “My least favorite foods to teach students to make is baked goods. The students always make a mess and it takes too long for the time we have.”
